Laurence Van Meerhaeghe is Senior Legal Counsel & Data Expert at Febelfin, the Belgian Financial Sector Federation. Although she advises on a broad range of legal and regulatory matters, she primarily specialises in data regulations and AI, advising the financial sector on the implementation of EU legislation such as the GDPR and the AI Act. She regularly contributes to policy discussions involving regulators, public authorities, and industry stakeholders. In addition, Laurence is Vice President of the Belgian Institute of Company Lawyers (IJE/IBJ), where she is also involved in initiatives relating to AI and emerging technologies.
