MIFID & Retail Investment hot topics

Addressing value for money, sustainability and Retail Investment Strategy

18/06, Brussels or online

DESCRIPTION

The Compliance Lunch Debate, titled « MiFID & Retail Investment hot topics : Addressing Value for Money, sustainability and RIS », will focus on how recent regulatory developments are reshaping investment distribution and what this means in practice for financial institutions.

Supervisory expectations are increasingly converging around core themes such as product governance, value for money, cost transparency, client advice and the integration of sustainability preferences. These areas are no longer assessed in isolation but as part of a broader investor protection framework that places greater emphasis on outcomes, accountability and demonstrable compliance.

At both European and national levels, authorities including ESMA, EIOPA and the FSMA have issued new guidance reflecting this shift. Particular attention is being paid to how institutions design, distribute and monitor investment products, how value for money is assessed throughout the product lifecycle, and how sustainability considerations are effectively embedded in advisory and distribution processes. The debate will also address the implications of the Retail Investment Strategy (RIS), which further reinforces these expectations and is expected to shape supervisory priorities in the coming years.

Join us on Thursday, 18 June, in Brussels or online, to enhance your daily work and decision-making processes, and connect with experts, peers and colleagues.
