Sara Vansteenkiste

Credit and Payment Services Unit, SPF/FOD Economy

Sara Vansteenkiste is a Legal Officer (Attaché) within the Credit and Payment Services Unit of the Directorate-General for Economic Regulation at the FPS Economy. She specialises in financial and economic law, with particular expertise in the regulatory framework governing credit and payment services. Sara has been actively involved in key European and national regulatory developments. She was part of the team that chaired the Council Working Party on PSD3/PSR during the Belgian Presidency of the Council of the European Union in 2024. She has also been closely involved in the development of the new Consumer Credit Directive, from European-level negotiations through to its transposition into national law. In addition, she is a member of the Basic Banking Service Chamber for Enterprises.
