The Fight Against Money Laundering in 2026

GAFI/FATF Evaluation, EBA/DLU 5 & Crypto assets

11/12, Brussels or online

DESCRIPTION

The Compliance Lunch Debate, titled "The Fight Against Money Laundering in 2026 », will address the key regulatory changes and the coming challenges shaping AML compliance.

With evolving regulations and increasing scrutiny from supervisory authorities, anti-money laundering (AML) compliance is undergoing significant transformations.

The upcoming FATF/GAFI report on Belgium is expected soon and will likely shape AML priorities for the months ahead. With the creation of the new Financial Prosecutor’s Office, Belgium is entering a renewed phase of financial crime enforcement. The Compliance Lunch Debates will offer a key moment to reflect on these developments and their practical impact. As the Belgian fifth round of voluntary disclosure (EBA/ DLU5) started in July 2025, the focus returns to transparency. What lessons can we draw from previous rounds, and what adjustments should institutions anticipate this time? At the same time, the rise of Crypto assets adds a new layer of complexity. Understanding their tax implications is essential to prevent crypto conversions from being misused for tax evasion and to strengthen AML vigilance.

This Compliance Lunch Debate will provide participants with practical insights and expert analysis to help them anticipate regulatory developments and adapt their Legal & compliance strategies accordingly. Through interactive discussions, attendees will have the opportunity to exchange with experts who play a key role in shaping these changes.

Join us on Thursday, 11 December, in Brussels or online, to enhance your daily work and decision-making processes and connect with peers, expert and regulatory representatives.
