Governance & Risk Culture

What changes in 2026, from CRD6 to the regulators’ expectations

24/03, Brussels or online

DESCRIPTION

The Compliance Lunch Debate, titled “Governance & Risk Culture. What changes in 2026, from CRD6 to the regulators’ expectations”, will focus on how evolving regulatory and supervisory expectations in 2026 are reshaping governance frameworks, individual accountability and risk culture within institutions, and what supervisors will effectively expect in practice.

With CRD6 and new EBA Guidelines, governance is entering a more demanding phase. Expectations regarding the organisation of management bodies, the mapping of duties, individual accountability and the effectiveness of control functions are becoming more explicit. Upcoming amendments to the Belgian Banking Act will further anchor these requirements at national level, increasing the need for institutions to demonstrate how governance arrangements operate beyond formal compliance.

Beyond formal governance structures, supervisory attention is increasingly shifting towards risk culture. Institutions are expected to show how the tone from the top translates into concrete behaviour, how communication and diversity support effective challenge, and how accountability for risk is embedded through incentives and decision-making processes. Evidence plays a growing role: dashboards, indicators and proportionality are no longer internal management tools only, but elements that supervisors will actively scrutinise.

Join us on Tuesday, 24 March, in Brussels or online to enhance your daily work and decision-making processes, and connect with peers and colleagues.
