Nicolas Strypstein is policy expert in governance and authorization matters in the prudential policy department of the National Bank of Belgium. He is the author of several NBB circulars on governance like the fit & proper manual, the governance manual circular for the banking sector, the overarching circular on governance for the insurance sector and many other circulars on outsourcing, licensing, qualifying holdings and other topics. He worked for more than 10 years in the Belgian operational supervision of banks, market infrastructures and insurance undertakings (offsite and onsite) and is responsible of policy matters on governance for more than 8 years. His diversified background in prudential supervision and his participation in numerous international forums not only provide him with a good understanding of the reality of today’s financial sector but also enable him to speak about future prudential developments.
